Pchu-er teas generally have a strong, distinctive flavour and aroma. They originate from Yunnan province and are part of traditional Chinese medicine. These are additionally fermented teas. Due to the complex and lengthy processing method, pchu-er has thus formed a unique group. It is said that the taste of pchu-er takes some getting used to. After the first cup, you will fall in love with it, or you will eventually drink it. The older the pchu-er is, the better the quality of the drink you make from it. It's a tea that needs to age.

The more tea you put in and the longer the infusion lasts, the more flavour is released from the tea. For a more intense flavour, it is preferable to add tea rather than increase the steeping time.
